千鳥文化ホールのお知らせ｜
千鳥文化では４月下旬から６月にかけ、
ドイツの「RWTHアーヘン工科大学」による
建築の材料や廃材の循環に関する
リサーチをメインとした長期展示を開催。
入口では光が透き通る大きな暖簾が迎え、
元々北加賀屋など各所で使われていた
建具を再利用した展示物が、
２階を含めた千鳥文化内の
あちこちに広がっています。
いつもとちょっぴり違う、
今だけの千鳥文化の空間を
お楽しみいただけるかと思います。

このたびの展覧会「素材の流れ」展は、素材がたどる軌跡をテーマにしています。その軌跡をたどってみるならば、素材がどのようにして動きを止められ、保管され、固定されて造形されているのか、その様子を見極めることができます。建築は素材を固定しますが、それは建築の形が崩れるまでのこと。形が解体されると素材は再び動き出します。素材が変形とリサイクルのプロセスに供給されるのです。形式をたどる建築史研究は、素材が静止し動かなくなった姿だけを考えます。しかし素材がある方向へ向けて、あるいは循環的に力動するさまをよりよく理解するためには、視点を変えるべきではないでしょうか。私たちは「流れ」という日本語に着目しています。この語は文字通りの「流れ」を 意味するだけでなく、比喩的に万物の「無常」という考えをも意味するものです。このような考えを前提に、「素材の流れ」展は実験、調査結果および革新的な実践を一堂に集め、素材がたどる軌跡の重要性に光を当てるものです。展覧会は三つのセクションに 分かれています。第一部は、分子レベルでの再編成により新たな物理的特性をもつ素材開発に関する報告です。 第二部の展示では、低エネルギー素材を使用した革新的で エコロジカルな建築工法を紹介しています。 そして第三部では、さまざまなリサイクルと再利用のプロセスをご覧いただけるでしょう。

The exhibition Material Flows deals with material trajectories. When we observe the trajectories of matter, we can identify stations where materials are stopped, stored, immobilized, and shaped. Architecture immobilizes material until its forms are dissolved again. When the architectural form is deconstructed, the materials are set in motion again to feed transformation and recycling processes. The history of architectural forms takes into account the stationary, immobile aspect of materials.
To better understand the dynamics of linear or circular movement, we propose a change of perspective. To do so, we draw on the Japanese term nagare, which primarily designates flow and, by extension, the idea of the impermanence of all material things.
In this sense, the Material Flows exhibition brings together experiments, research results, and innovative practices that underline the importance of material trajectories. The exhibition is divided into three sections. First, it focuses on a new alchemy of materials, where new physical properties emanate from molecular reorganization. Second, it introduces innovative, environmentally friendly construction methods that use low-energy materials. Third, visitors are presented with a range of recycling and reuse processes.
